Components - Synthesis

A key initiative in working together as a region is to know what the other states in the region have been doing on the topic. This is the idea behind the synthesis/clearinghouse part of the study. Currently, researchers at the Midwest Regional UTC are developing a database that would compile two primary types of information:

1. Cooperative efforts in freight transportation that involve the public agencies in our region
2. Research of relevance to this region

Work has already begun in the compilation. An unofficial look at database can be found at http://www.mrutc.org/doclib/index.php?category=Multi-Jurisdictional

After an initial search by researchers for this information, the team will use interviews with state DOTs, metropolitan planning organizations, universities, and others to supplement their findings. The lead researcher on this part of the study is Assistant Project Director, Travis Gordon.
