Introduction to Phase II of the Upper Midwest Freight Corridor Study |
|
Phase II is in the process of just starting and the final
completion date is October 30, 2006. The main objective of Phase II is
to: development a regional freight agenda, facilitating discussions of
a regional approach to deploying commercial vehicle-related
intelligent transportation systems, and maintain and improve the
regional information system on freight. For more information, see

Phase I of the study has been completed and further details can be found under the Components link. The study was funded from several sources. Six states in the region contributed to a pooled fund to sponsor the majority of the work. These states include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. In addition, the research centers contributed funds. The study is truly a cooperative effort across the region.
